That is 9% unemployment rate in a country such as the United States of America. Compare this with Philippine unemployment rate as of January 2011 – 7.4%. Comparing both countries, we feel a much greater overall impact in the Philippines. Based on my observation majority in this 7,000 plus group of islands, still tend to think employment is the solution. Question is where are the jobs? . We have massive unemployed nursing graduates, thanks to the growing BPO industry in the country, it is helping some segments of the unemployed well versed in the english language.

I still believe entrepreneurship can be the answer. I had lived in shanghai (china) and travelled around places in the mainland. I noticed that every neighborhood is into business, riding their bikes busy with their daily business. No wonder China economy is gigantic.
